Alan Taylor

Alan Taylor, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son passed away in Lakeland on December 3, 2024, at the age of 60. Born on August 12, 1964, to parents Kenneth Neil and Jacquelyn (Maulden) Taylor, Alan lived a life filled with love, kindness, and sincerity. A lifelong resident of Florida, he was brought up mostly in the Plant City area. Throughout his childhood, he and his little brother Mike would often go hunting and fishing in the Everglades with their dad. Alan loved these trips, especially riding through the glades on the swamp buggy. Young Alan was a kind, courteous son and a generous, patient brother. These traits carried on with Alan as he got older, and he will be remembered by all who knew him as the kindest individual. After graduating Plant City High School in 1982, Alan built his career as a machinist, utilizing his impressive talent and passion for restoring automobiles. From classic cars to race cars, car shows to drag racing, Alan loved anything to do with cars. For several years, he was the proud owner of a Maverick that he enjoyed working on, continuously working to better it with modifications. One year, Alan restored a 1972 Ford F150 that was passed down to him from his dad. The hard work and dedication he put into restoring the truck was rewarded with winning a 1st place trophy in a car show. In the summer of 2009, Alan was introduced to the love of his life, Janine, and the two became nearly inseparable almost immediately upon meeting. They married on December 24, 2009, and the couple shared 15 years full of love and happiness. Alan is preceded in death by his beloved father, Kenneth Neil Taylor. He is survived by his dear wife Janine Taylor, mother Jacquelyn Taylor, children Elena Zapata, Kevin Taylor, and Alicia Taylor, brother Mike Taylor (wife Kelly), mother-in-law Theresa Cintron, sister-in-laws Jacquelyn St-Cyr and Jannette St-Cyr, grandchildren William and Zion, beloved cat Koby and dog Jazzy, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Alan Taylor will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
